Sound Booster is intended to help you boost volume so that you can hear sounds better when the source files are too low or there is too much noise around. The tool is very simple to use and quite unobtrusive. It works from the menu bar, from which you can turn on the sound booster and enter the app’s settings.
The application has a neat interface in which its different features are organized in tabs. The first tab lets you create a list of files and boost their sound volume permanently. Fortunately, it works for batches and you can even drag and drop the desired files. The second tab is intended to toggle the sound booster on and off as well as set an amplification level. Additionally, there is an equalizer with multiple built-in presets. The third and final tab is there to allow you to configure boost levels for individual apps separately.
Unfortunately, Sound Booster may still be unstable and buggy, probably on some systems. This way, it has been reported to crash occasionally. Likewise, although it does work for individual files, it may fail to boost the overall system volume. So, the best way to know if it works for you is to try it on your computer. Luckily, there is a free version (Lite) with some restricted features but no time limits.
