Space Defender Lite is a vertical scrolling shooter. In this game, you control a little ship and your goal is to kill as many enemies as you can before being destroyed. The ship can be controlled either using the W, A, S, D keys or the arrow keys. And you shoot your cannon with the space bar. This is a free version of Space Defender, which has some more features and no limitations.
The "Lite" version lets you play for only a few seconds. I played it a couple of times and I lost because I was playing too fast, so I decided to be patient and not do anything too bold, and when I reached 51 points, the game told me that I won.
Space Defender Lite has nice graphics for a vertical shooter. I like the exhaust animations and how smooth the ship that you control is. What I don't like at all is that it is too easy to get hit. And when you do get hit, you don't really realize it unless you are looking at the Hits meter all the time, which you are probably not going to be doing, because you want to concentrate on the action. Perhaps a sound effect for when you get hit will raise your awareness of that fact and prevent you from losing so easily.
In conclusion, Space Defender Lite lets you try this game for a few seconds. The gameplay is not the best I have seen and you can only play for less than a minute. I didn't see any power-ups or different weapons in this game.
