SpeakMyTunes is a Menu Bar application designed to announce you which song is being played within the iTunes program. The app communicates well with the aforementioned Mac utility, uses a small amount of CPU resources, and gives you access to various speech options.
You can choose from plenty of voice profiles, select which type of track info you wish the app to display under your Menu Bar, and adjust the speaker's sound volume according to your needs. I like the fact that you can open the Preferences menu and configure the app's settings by using a certain combination of keys.
Another good aspect about this application is that it now brings you the Pause Speaking option (can be found on the main menu of the app). Hence, you don't need to shut down the program in order to silence the speaker function.
Last but not least, you can also set the app to start automatically at system login.
