Spooky Runes is a nice match-3 game with a Halloween theme. The objective is to place groups of runes on the board to align three or more runes of the same type to make them disappear from the board and fill up the color vials before you run out of time. Moreover, if you align four or more runes of the same type, you will also receive a bonus spell. The spells are like power-ups and they will help you finish the levels faster, by eliminating multiple runes from the board. To use the spells, you simply have to a match with them when they appear on the board.
All the levels offer a different spooky background and a different playing field. As you advance, you will have runes of more colors and you will have to make more matches in order to win. Unfortunately, the game only includes one mode and only one difficulty level. There are also no mini-games, so it may get a bit monotonous after a while. The game features excellent graphics, great sounds, and suitable Halloween music.
In short, if you are looking for an enjoyable game with a Halloween theme to pass the time, Spooky Runes may be an excellent choice.
