SQLBackupAndFTP is a simple program that backs up your SQL Server databases, it also zips and encrypts backups and file folders. You can set it to save the zips and the encrypts on a remote FTP Server, on the LAN, an external hard drive or on a tape. SQLBackupAndFTP removes old backups which unnecessarily fill your hard drive. The program also sends you an e-mail to confirm if the backup was done successfully or it didn't go well. SQL scripts are executed before and after the backup is done. The program has a user-friendly interface and it does not request solid IT knowledge.
The program is perfect for any SQL Server database which has to send daily backups to a remote FTP server. You can create an unlimited number of databases to back up per day, only by using the "Run Now" button. Unfortunately, the free version has a limit of 2 databases and the lite version is limited to 5 scheduled backups.
The 6.4 version introduces improved SQLBackupAndFTP service state control. You do not even need to start the program: you just schedule it when to run using the Windows Scheduler.
