StarMaker is a freemultimedia recording and editing app that allows you to choose a song to sing, record it, edit and apply filters to it, and share it with others. With a massive song library to choose from, it doesn’t matter what genre you like or who are your favorite artists.

Like other karaoke apps such as Smule: Social Karaoke Singing, StarMaker also has a wide variety of effects and options to add a layer to each of your performances. Whether you want it to sound silent and solemn or grandiose and operatic, this app has it.

Record, edit, and share

Once you open the app, you can start recording right away. You just have to choose the song you want to sing and start singing against the track’s minus one. In choosing a song, you may either use the search bar at the top or scroll through the suggested tracks available. You can also take a video of your performance using either your device’s front or rear camera.

After you’re done recording, you can then choose audio and visual effects to improve your performance. From addinglighting effects, filters, and an auto-tune layer to your voice, you can do a lot of things in this app. You can even make adjustments to the recorded audio, including its tempo and its pitch. By the time you’re done editing, you could have a performance video that looks professionally recorded.

Unfortunately, while you can share your performance on social media, other users need to download the app if they want to watch or listen to your work. It limits the reach for people aspiring to show their work to more people by sharing on social media. Additionally, there are no private options for using the app, leaving children vulnerable with the content they access and people they connect with.

For performers and artists looking to bring their craft to a wider audience, StarMaker is a good option to start. It helps you create professional-looking performances with just a few touches. Unfortunately, while it lets you share to the social media platforms, it’s not in a format that is can be played as is. They have to download the app. Lastly, the lack of privacy options makes it inadvisable for young users.
