StartNinja is a program designed for Mac users who wish to silence their system start up chime. This simple but efficient application might come in handy whenever you're going to study in a library or you're in a class and need to mute the chime to not disturb other people around you.

Before muting the start up chime you need to click the Get Current Setting from the main window of the app. This way, the program identifies the current status of the system chime (muted or not) and allows you to change it according to your needs.

In order to change the start up chime settings you need to enter the administrator password. This aspect might prove to be of good use as it prevents unauthorized users from changing your chime settings while you're away from your Mac.

Unfortunately, this application can mute the start up chime only if it's played through the internal speaker. Ergo, if there are external speakers or headphones connected to your Mac, the chime will still play.
