Stellarium is a program that enables you to check a 3D view of the sky and solar system. This application was created to offer you an alternative to going to a planetarium to get a glimpse of the planets, stars, and other celestial objects from our solar system.
When you launch the utility for the first time, Stellarium displays the 3D view of the sky based on your current location. You will be able to change the view mode by showing constellation lines, the equatorial grid, planet labels, etc. All of the available view options can be found on the bottom side of the main window.
Furthermore, the application also gives you access to detailed information regarding celestial objects. For instance, you can learn the type, galactic longitude, and apparent diameter of the Sun.
My only issue with this program is that it occasionally runs slow, especially when changing display settings.
Still, this application provides you with an interesting and innovative way to explore the Universe from the comfort of your home. It's a great source of information for those who are searching details about planets and stars.
