Once upon a time, in the ancient year of 2017, I (PJSim) developed and released Steven the Sperm, the epic adventure of a sperm named Steven who, having just survived an onslaught of spermicide that's taken out the rest of his brethren, must now navigate a full-on labyrinth of the stuff in his quest to fulfill his destiny and fertilize the egg.
Released on April 11th, 2017, this original game was infamous within the now-defunct gamedev group I founded, "Perfect Acorn", for being brutally difficult and causing many ragequits. The game would later on get a "Remastered" version, which added an extra boss and stage, but it wasn't until the "HD" version, released to Steam on September 12th, 2018, did the game reach a more public audience and refinements with a new engine. Even then, the game still wasn't perfect until almost four years later on August 19th, 2022, when the "Ultimate" version, 2.0, was released, moving back to the old engine but with a dizzying amount of refinements, making the game a smooth and incredible experience.
However, in this race to make the game even better, the classic version was lost to time - UNTIL NOW! To celebrate five years of the HD release on Steam, this brutal and barebones classic version of STS is now available for the public! You thought the original game was hard? Try having no checkpoints! Try only having only eight movement directions! TRY BEATING THE GAME WITH A RESOLUTION OF ONLY 640x480 PIXELS! Can you do it?
