If you receive an email with an attachment with this at the end of it '.emc', it means that the attachment has been sent by Striata and that the attachment has been encrypted with an industrial strength cipher algorithm, called triple DES, which ensures the integrity and confidentiality of your information.

To open this attachment you need the Striata Reader. The Reader will decrypt the information, often with the help of a shared secret, making your information available to you.
