Build and govern authentic medieval castles, plan campaigns to repel attacks by your insidious enemies. To overthrow your adversaries you must create an un-impenetrable fortress from a massive selection of historical buildings, troops and machines at your disposal.

So that you can better concentrate on your strategic decisions, Stronghold has a special resource manager, which supports you with the administration of creating larger sized castles. These managers independently take over functions, which can require urgent attention, freeing your time for more important tasks.

Popularity is a main factor in the effectiveness of your castle. It determines how many peasants are willing to come and work for you. If you manage the community well, your population will swell. Stronghold requires you to handle your castle denizens with the utmost care and diligence.
