SUPER IS HOT is an ambitious crossover of two independent games: Baba is You and SUPERHOT. Created for the ‘7 Day First Person Shooter’ event, SUPER IS HOT is a first-person shooter and puzzlegame where players create and bend the rules as they wish. Those familiar with SUPERHOT will have the advantage in this game since it looks just like it. The one major difference is that time only moves when you tell it to.
As mentioned, SUPER IS HOT was the creation of developer 7dfps and is a mashup of SUPERHOT and Baba is You. Set in a minimalistic environment, your job is totake out hostile attackers that are trying to kill you. Your only weapons available to you are the ones you loot from your attackers. In addition, all weapons in this game havelimited ammunition, requiring you to take down other enemies to attain new weapons and plan your attacks.
You can take them down using a weapon or using your melee skills but be careful! One bullet will instantly kill you, and you’ll have to restart the level. The game sounds like a typical FPS game, but it has two key features that make it stands out. First, time moves only when you move. By slowing down time, you can assess what’s happening around you, alter your decisions, and hopefully, avoid death.
Second, every player can change the rules as they play. Sounds easy, right? It will depend on the gaming experience of the player. Every rule comprises 7 blocks: TIME, YOU, IS, MOVE, WHEN, STOP, and SHOOT. The blocks need to be pushed or rearrange to create a new rule. There are at least 127 combinations you can make with 7 blocks, so each round of the game has a completely different dynamic every time.
SUPER IS HOT is a game that fans of first-person shooters will like. Since it is free from plotlines and rewards, all your time is spent on crafting strategies and predicting outcomes. The game also has a limited number of levels, but it more than makes up for it by allowing you to change the rules and giving you all the weapons you need (via loot).
