SupremePlayer is intended to play practically any type of media file. In this respect, the player supports not only such popular video formats as MPG, MP4, RMVB, WMV, ASF, MKV, AVI, 3GP, FLV and MOV, but also every sound file format. Likewise, it allows playing streaming contents like those available from multiple Internet sources.

The application has the same minimalistic interface that characterizes other media players. There is the usual set of playback buttons, which is automatically hidden when not in use. Likewise, there are other options available from the menu bar, which include controlling playback speed, jumping to previous or next frame and seeking precisely. Luckily, the tool lets you create a playlist of the contents you want to view or listen to. It is convenient that you can take snapshots of your favorite frames as well.

It is excellent that SupremePlayer also allows playing media files containing multiple video, audio and subtitle streams. Thus, you can easily switch from one language to another easily. Moreover, if the subtitles are not embedded in the movie, you can always load them from an external file. Unfortunately, unlike other players, this one cannot help look for subtitles automatically.

In addition, there are a few adjustments you can make to the video output, like setting brightness, contrast, gamma, hue and saturation levels. However, do not expect the tool to do anything more than that, such as applying effects or simulating 3D video. Luckily, sound output can also be adjusted via its built-in equalizer.

All in all, SupremePlayer most of the times works as advertised. As I found, it may fail to properly play certain file types, such as VOB. The product is available from the Mac Store, where you can also find a Lite version, which is free.
