TableTopBornStar is my second project, and I certainly think it looks more polished than Goss_IP.
What kind of game is this?
TableTopBornStar is anadult visual novel game with tabletop (dice and cards) gameplay. It is set in a Hollywood in 1999 and its main fetish iscorruption.
Contains drugs, alcohol, strong language, and pornographic images and animations. As such, it isnot suitable for minors.
How is it made?
Same as with "Goss_IP", this game is created inEnglish with Ren'pyand features2D artworks(made in Krita) and alsoanimated XXX scenes. The art (sprites and elements) are mostlyhand-traced outlinesof real images, colored and shaded accordingly, and the backgrounds are processed photos. I've drawn comics on paper almost all my life. But I found thatwith tracing I can work fasterand achieve the visual look I want for this product. But don't think I'm taking the easy way out, as even with this technique every image is still hand drawn and takes between4-8 hours…
Who is the main character?
You control awashed-up talent agentin Hollywood,California in 1999. He is currently under house arrest. Confined in his office, he tries to guideMJ, a young, pretty country girl who dreams of being an actress, to fame and riches. Whether he takes advantage of her or sincerely tries to help her through life is up to you.
How's the gameplay?
Thegeneral pathyou'll need to take to make MJ a success goes something like this:
* Make MJ work as a waitress, then as she earns somemoney,choose to pay for drama and dance lessons, gym membership, beauty salons etc…
*Improve her statsin different areas (Body and mind) to open new opportunities
* Findbetter jobs… Model, dancer, gym trainer, actress…
*Increase fame - Increase money
* Increase perversity(optional) which will unlock strip/nude/XXX jobs.
As you work with MJ in her journey, you caninfluence her charactertoo. She might stay as the prudish and conservative but obedient girl you first met, or she can slowly turn into an independent, adventurous diva who spends all your money! Or she can be somewhere in the middle. There will be also be a lot of other female characters to meet and conquer. Given the way everyone knows Hollywood seems to work, it was difficult to design a game story that was both realistic andwithout any NTR content. You might ask yourself, how is this possible with a title like this? I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you are familiar with Goss_IP, you’ll know I like plot twists.
To be clear:The Pornstar Path is one of many. It's not the only one.
Grind:Although, it may appear at first that the game will be grindy, it’s not. It’s basically a visual novel with plenty of scenes, dialogues, choices and alternate endings. I've designed things so the progression is consistent withminimum grind, but still more gameplay and depth than a simple visual novel.
Randomness:Although the dice and the random cards play a big role in the gameplay, they’renot as crucialas it appears. Yes, extreme bad dice rolls could ruin your game, especially in the beginning, but it is very unlikely. It all comes down to your choices.
Game Over:The game is over if you run out of money, and there are a few different ways it might happen: especially at the beginning if you don’t pay attention, your income might not cover your expenses. Later if MJ get's too corrupted, she can be hard to control and may start overspending. Or even some choices might lead to a big fight for reasons like jealousy, career choices, fame drop etc. Keeping the right balance will be tricky but is the road to success.
Sex Content and Tags:Most sex scenes are optional but they have an impact on the story.

Why 1999?
I’m writing this in 2020. Almost everyone suffers the consequences of a global pandemic.Covid-19has confined most of us indoors. And everyone, I mean everyone, is sayingthank goodness there is internet.Imagine if we lived this lock down twenty years ago… Well, I tried torecreate that ‘infernal’ scenario, with the MC confined indoors, with a slow internet connection and only some video games at his disposal to pass the time.
The late 90ssucked tech-wise, without smartphones, high speed internet etc. but at the same time it was agreat period for show business. 1999 was even greater year. Awesome Movies (Fight club, Matrix, Star Wars Ep.1, Sixth Sense and more), music (Napster came out that year but with those slow internet speeds wasn’t yet much of a threat for the industry), peak television (MTV, Friends and ER) and of course the XXX industry. Digital means of piracy were available but not as common as today. In short,the companies ruled almost everything.
Nowadays,although piracy is huge, I believe there’smore meritocracy. Indie artists such as myself can reach their audiences and get positive or negative feedback and financial support almost from anyone, anywhere.
In 1999, the road to success was a different one. For artists, it wasn’t just important how good you were, but mostly who you knew. Anda crucial role to reach fame and fortune, came down to agents and managers.
How serious am I?
Although game development isn’t my day job, I dedicate a lot of time and effort to be a better coder, writer, artist etc. Old friends and supporters already know that I’vealways respected the deadlinesand for 18 months, Goss_IP releases were never late, not even for one day. I’ll try to show the same professionalism in this project too. But I don't fool myself: I'm not as good as I aim to be, and I know I need to keep working and improving. So please, send me your help/feedback/support and ideas.
What about Goss_IP vol 2 Ghost Stories?
I’ll get to work with it as soon as I finish this project. I love Goss_IP. I’m dying to see Ted and Ivan’s new adventures. But, right now it’s TTPS turn.
