TapeDeck is an audio recording utility designed for Mac. The application brings you a nicely-designed interface, features a comprehensive help manual, and provides you with the quality files you need within moments.
This program lets you choose between stereo and mono recording modes and allows you to attach notes to the exported audio files. What's more, you can use the built-in search tool to easily find the audio recording you're looking for within your library.
TapeDeck can also be accessed via its Menu Bar icon. There you will find the Record, Stop, and Pause options as well as their correspondent shortcut keys information.
Unfortunately, the application comes with an important disadvantage: it supports only one output format - MP4. So, popular audio formats like MP3, OGG, FLAC or AAC aren't supported.
Taking into consideration the aforementioned aspects, I don't think it's worth buying this program for your Mac. It does exactly what QuickTime app can do and you don't have to pay a buck to use the latter.

- In rare instances, TapeDeck would fail to record unless the MONO and STEREO modes were changed. This is no longer the case.
- When starting up in MONO mode, and STEREO mode is enabled, the level meter no longer shows a full volume signal on the right channel.
