It provides remote access to another Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android systems. Transfer files in both directions and share all data with your friends. It requires no installation for the portable edition.
TeamViewer has been specifically designed for IT specialists to provide online support. It can also be used to allow collaboration between members of a working team. The application is easy to setup in contrast with the other of the same type. The most important part of this initial process is the generation and sharing of a password to ensure the security of the connection. Luckily, data transfers are done in encrypted form (256bit). Yet, it is a shame that it does not support blocking unwanted connections by using IP filtering.
As to file sharing, TeamViewer allows you to transfer files easily, as you simply need to drag a file to copy it to the target location. This mechanism works fast and reliably for even very large files. Sharing desktops does not require much effort either, and you can switch the control to the other side should it be necessary. All other features are easily accessed from the main window.
The tool allows connecting not only computers but also portable devices. It is good that using the app on your device does not imply learning any new things, as everything is practically done the same way.
All in all, TeamViewer can meet most of the expectations related to connection speed, which is probably the main concern that the users of this type of tools have. Fortunately, this product does not have a learning curve as steep as that of other similar applications. It definitely deserves a try.
