TechPowerUp GPU-Z is a great tool for monitoring and controlling the work of video processing hardware on your computer. It supports NVIDIA, AMD, ATI, and Intel graphics devices, allowing you to check their model versions, display adapter, GPU, and monitor data. With GPU-Z, you can also access and check 3D parameters, run tests, and view statistics. It's a must-have tool for anyone who wants to keep their video hardware running optimally.

TechPowerUp GPU-Z can help you diagnose, evaluate and monitor your graphics cards as it can get information from the computer´s sensors and make it available to you. In this respect, it is great to know that the tool supports the most frequent graphics devices (NVIDIA, AMD, ATI, and Intel). Likewise, it is compatible with technologies as OpenCL, CUDA, PhysX, and DirectCompute.

The program has a very straightforward tabbed interface. The first tab shows multiple data about the GPU, such as name, memory type, manufacturer data and driver version. In my opinion, however, this information could be made more readable if it were not so crowded. The second tab is where you can get the info collected from the GPU sensors, including core clock, memory clock, temperature, voltage, load and dedicated memory usage. Moreover, it is possible to create log files in which the current parameters are stored in simple text format. There is the third tab, labeled Advanced, from which you can get more specific information about such features as ASIC quality, WDDM, DXVA, DirectX, OpenCL, and Vulcan. Fortunately, there is a drop-down menu from which you select the desired feature. Depending on your selection, you can get lots of data about it. If your choice is not valid, the program shows a blank page, which gives you an idea of which features your graphics card supports. Regrettably, I do not think the tool supports updating graphics drivers, which would be an excellent complement.

All in all, TechPowerUp GPU-Z comes in handy when you have to make a decision about buying a new graphics card or evaluate its performance. An additional advantage is that it can be either installed or run as a portable program. Luckily, the product is free for any kind of usage.
