The Evil Within 

Sebastian Castellanos is an ex-cop who lost his daughter and wife in a house fire, despite his efforts to save them. Then, he discovers that his daughter Lilly has been kidnaped by a corporation to make her part of a mind-controlling machine. The corporation loses contact with the girl and forces Sebastian to enter into the system to save his daughter and prevent the destruction of the system.

This is the premise of this psychological suspense game. In it, you need to enter into the system to save the child with the aid of another ex-cop that now works for the corporation. Since all the action develops at the mental level, all your worst nightmares can come true, so you will need to make use of your physical and mental abilities to fight them and accomplish your mission.

This is a very well-crafted game. Its graphics are top-notch and it has an almost cinematic quality that allows you to feel as if you were really in the head of the main character. The story is interesting and the characters are well constructed. Also, the game has several difficulty levels, which make them even more challenging.

The only drawback I found is that the game is difficult to play using only the keyboard and mouse movements. Of course, this can be overcome by having a joystick attached to your computer. Also, please take into account that, since the game's graphics are so detailed, you will need a good graphics card and a quick processor to play the game smoothly.

The shareware version lets you play through the first three chapters of the game. If you like it and want to play more, then you will need to purchase a license.
