The Lair of Fungal Wonder is a short game created as a Ludum Dare entry and slightly improved post-competition. The goal is to navigate your spaceship (ever moving forward) through a cavern of large fungi, getting close enough to scan the structures but not close enough to crash into them.
To make things more interesting, fungal spores are drifting through the cavern; bumping into them attaches a cannon to a random part of your ship that fires regularly in a single direction, destroying the valuable fungi and destabilitizing the cavern. If too many fungi are destroyed, deadly red spores begin to drift by, the cavern destabilizes, and the fungi even begin to fight back. I encourage players to try this path to see where it takes them.
If no fungi are destroyed, however, as in the case where a player manages to successfully dodge all spores, the game is quite trivial to complete. Changing the difficulty to "Hi" presents somewhat more of a challenge, though I'm still tempted to bump into a couple of spores just to up the difficulty a bit.
