Thought Train is a minimalist text editor designed to help you take quick notes. Therefore, you can use the app to write down thoughts and ideas the moment they come into your head, as well as preserve pieces of information copied from various sources for reusing in your projects.

The tool installs in the menu bar of your Mac so you can access it with ease each time you need it. Using the app requires creating an account, a procedure meant to provide data protection and make the program accessible on other devices. Adding a new note is done easily. All you need to do is give a suggestive title to your note and edit the content. Most important notes can be added to the menu bar so you can have them right there at hand for a quick look. You are provided with shortcuts for showing the app, quitting the app, and submitting your note, yet you can't replace them with key combinations of your own. The note content support being re-edited, copied for pasting in other apps and exported to CSV.

In short, Thought Train is a simple note-taking app. Without special features to impress you, you may still find it useful as it stays at close reach in the menu bar of your Mac.
