Tipard Apple TV Video Converter for Mac was designed to let you convert your video and audio files so that you can play them on the Apple TV. It has very good input format support, and it can convert files into MPEG-4, H.264, WMV, FLV, and MOV. Although it is sold as a converter for the Apple TV, this app can also convert files that will play on other devices, such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad and Zune. There are different conversion profiles optimized for the said devices.
Tipard Apple TV Video Converter for Mac comes with a very nice video editor that allows you to trim and crop your videos, and adjust their brightness, saturation, and volume. You can also use it to add watermarks.
In my testing, I converted a 1-minute-long DivX file using the standard H.264 profile for the AppleTV. I also tested the editor by trimming my video clip. The whole conversion process took less than 15 seconds, and the resulting file played very well.
All in all, this is a nice converter, with a good graphical interface, good format support and a fully-featured video editor. It isn't the cheapest product out there, but it is priced like most other commercial video converters.
