Tipard HD Converter for Mac is a multi-format video converter. It can open a lot of different video and audio formats and it can output files in pretty much every major format out there. There are also lots of conversion profiles for devices like iPods, iPads, video game consoles, mobile phones, AppleTV, etc.
The app comes with a very nice video editor that allows you to trim and crop your videos and to adjust their brightness, saturation and volume. Boosting volume is some times helpful for when your video's volume is too low. But at times, this feature will make the audio sound horrible.
As I mentioned there are lots of different conversion profiles. I tested the app with the H.264 iPad profile. I converted from an MKV file and a DivX file, and both were processed just fine. I couldn't get the subtitle feature to work, however. I tried with an MKV file with a few subtitle tracks in it and a .AVI + .SRT file combination to no avail.
Tipard HD Converter for Mac is marketed as being a converter especially made for the conversion of high-definition files, but in all honesty, it is almost identical to Tipard Video Converter for Mac. Even the same conversion profiles are used. So, basically, you can get the cheapest version of the two that you can find and you will have the same functionality.
