Tipard iPhone 4 Video Converter for Mac is a commercial video converter. This app can be used to convert your video files into formats that can be played on the iPhone 4. Apple devices only support H.264, MPEG-4 and MOV video files, and most video distributed on the Internet comes in AVI files. Thus, you need to convert those files before enjoying them on your iPhone 4. Although the name of the app suggests that it only works for the iPhone 4, this app comes with conversion profiles for iPods, iPads, and all the iPhone models. Even the Apple TV is supported. If you don't want to use a conversion profile, you can choose a format and modify conversion settings manually.
In my testing, I loaded a MKV file, which was thirty minutes long and had a resolution of 720p. I trimmed it to a 1-minute clip and then converted it into the iPhone 4 H.264 profile. The resulting file played great on the iPhone, and although the resolution was obviously reduced, the video looked great and it was smooth.
This app comes with a nice video editor that lets you touch up your videos and trim them and crop them.
