Tipard iPod Transfer Pro for Mac is a very complete iPod management tool. It can be used to connect your iPod Touch or other iOS devices to your Mac and transfer content from and to the device, without needing to use iTunes to sync it. This can be very useful when you need to transfer music from your computer to your device when for some reason you can't sync with iTunes. The app lets you transfer music, movies, ringtones, all your playlists and even your camera roll photos and videos.
As an extra, this utility packs both a DVD ripper and a video converter. These two tools come in quite handy when you need to transfer videos to your iPod that are not supported by it. Both utilities support the H.264, MPEG-4, M4V and MOV formats and come with a number of conversion profiles for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. There is also a ringtone maker that can create short audio clips in the M4R format out of video or audio files.
I like that this app is fast to load the images on your device and it lets you preview them before transferring them. Most other similar applications only let you see a snapshot of your pictures.
There are two versions of Tipard iPod Transfer Pro for Mac: Standard and Platinum. The standard version, which I used to review the application, limits the types of content that you can retrieve from your device. It does have other minor limitations, such as not being able to transfer device from your iPod to another iOS device directly.
