Tipard MKV Video Converter for Mac is a multi-format video converter. Just because it has that "MKV" in its title doesn't mean that is the only format that it can open. You can open any video with it, and you can convert that video to a variety of formats. I say any because most popular video formats are supported. I, of course, tested this app with an MKV file. I was expecting this app to let me choose an audio and subtitle track. There was a drop-down field for the audio track, but the app didn't let me choose a subtitle. I know the file has 2 subtitles, so I don't know why it wouldn't let me choose one. There is no point of having a drop-down field that says subtitles, if you aren't going to let the user use it. As far as quality goes, this converter worked great and it the resulting file looked very good, even though I converted it to a lower-resolution file.
One thing that bothers me about this app is that it uses an installation wizard. This means you have to type in your user password, and if you have a long password like me, then it becomes a nuisance.
All in all, Tipard MKV Video Converter for Mac has lots and lots of conversion profiles, a nice interface, video editing features and great format support.
