This utility is a plugin for Finder, the default file manager for Mac that provides you with some useful extra features. TotalFinder supports dual-panel mode and multi-tab feature, comes with simple to configure settings, and runs quietly in the background without slowing down the performance of your computer.
The program might prove to be of good use to people who work with multiple Finder screens and require an easy way to manage their windows. Its multi-tab feature helps them handle files between screens and easily drag-and-drop documents to new destination folders. These tabs look a lot like the ones you see in Google Chrome, a popular Web browser.
Furthermore, the app provides you with an option to display the folders on top of the Finder screen. The files will be placed under the directories giving you a better look at your folders.
Another important advantage is the fact that you can use hotkeys to enable or disable dual-panel mode. You can change the shortcut keys if necessary by going to the Tabs panel from the Preferences menu of the application.
To summarize, I think, you should give this plugin a try if you work with Finder often. It comes with a reasonable price, is very simple to handle, and works perfectly.
