Totally Accurate Suez Canal Training Simulator is a free simulation video game wherein you get to reenact how the Ever Given got into the Suez Canal. Developed by Mythical City Games, this 3D indie game is a silly parody of the 2021 global maritime trade mishap that entertained the world over.

A parody game similar to DIAMOND HANDS: THE GAME STONK, you must navigate the 3D polygonal version of the Suez Canal without getting stuck—although there’s no actual need to completely win. Totally Accurate Suez Canal Training Simulator is available both as a downloadable file and as a browser game.

Be a global maritime trade nuisance

The 2021 Suez Canal obstruction incident occurred on March 2021, wherein a 400-meter-long container ship named the Ever Given had completely wedged itself sideways into the canal, blocking all traffic behind it for 6 days. This significantly impacted the canal’s business as it is one of the world's busiest trade routes. However, the absurdity of the event rocketed into hilarious viral news.

This, in turn, inspired a funny little fan game titled Totally Accurate Suez Canal Training Simulator. In it, you get to pilot your own large container ship using either the WASD keys or arrow keys. You’ll need to make use of the in-game physics to properly handle the sharp turns in the canal—which is pretty tricky since the W or Up arrow keys are the accelerators and gradually picks up speed.

On the screen, there are several visual elements: an option to name your ship, a timer, your speed, a hilariously useless Economic Damage counter, and a “Buy New Ship” button. There’s no actual win condition—just don’t get stuck. However, it’s not easy as physics makes it easy to get stuck. Plus, buying a new ship doesn’t get rid of the old ones that you moored into the banks.

Just be a bit silly

Overall, Totally Accurate Suez Canal Training Simulator is a nice little game for messing around with silly boat physics. However, it’s not the type of game that places emphasis on winning so most of the visual elements you see are just for comedy. It’s also pretty easy to get stuck in certain parts of the map. You’ll be constantly using new ships or resetting.
