TransWin allows you to set a transparency level for your windows. This function is not limited to windows only, but you can also make your task bar and start menu transparent, among others. You can define the general percentage of transparency and even set a different transparency level for each window or program. All of that through a simple and easy to use interface.

The program's main window allows you to access all its functions by means of three tabs – General, Filters, and Settings. The General tab is intended for you to set a general transparency level for all windows and extra elements. You can do this through a slide control, which can also disable transparency altogether if moved to the far left. If you move it to the far right, on the other hand, you can reach the maximum transparency level, which can be 80% or 99% depending on whether the "enable super-trans mode" has been activated or not.

This can be done from the Settings tab, together with some other options. For example, you can set the program to run at system startup, to use the safe mode, set a security password to protect the program, or set a customized hotkey to enable or disable the transparency effect. The safe mode uses more system resources, but can help the program to be more compatible with older versions of Microsoft Windows. Finally, as for the Filters tab, it allows you to set custom transparency configurations for specific programs or even for individual windows.

As you can see, TransWin can be an excellent choice in case you need or like to work with Windows Vista/7 Aero-style windows.
