“Treasure Island” is a typical puzzle game, like many others in the market. But, differently from many of those other games, Treasure Island haven’t a background story or complicated rules to play it. You could say that this is a pretty straightforward game. You run the application and start playing right away.
The game basically consists in creating matches of three-in-a-row pieces on a board, by swapping the tokens. Two modes are available: Classic and Timeless. As you sure already guessed, the difference between these two modes is time. In classic you have a limited amount of time to complete a level. More over, the sooner you finish the level the more points you will get. In timeless, on the other hand, you can relax and take as long as you want to complete a level.
You can create different kind of matches according to the current possibilities. You can create horizontal, vertical and diagonal matches. These matches need to have three or more identical components. Every time you create a match, those tokens are cleared out from the board, and the background is cleared. When you cleared all the backgrounds of the board, you finish the level.
When you first enter the game, you’ll be asked for a player name and then you’ll see the welcome screen with the following options on it:
- Change User: the first time there’s no existing player. After you create one or more, they’ll be saved. When you enter into this submenu, you’ll be asked for a name as a new player. It’s possible to have a list of different players and record their performance. This way, you can play home tournaments with family and friends.
- Classic: to play the game in this mode.
- Timeless: idem.
- Options: Configure sound and display settings.
- Exit: Click to close the game and return to the desktop.
