TubeTab is a Mac program that provides you with an alternative to watching YouTube clips within your default browser. The application sits in your Menu Bar without slowing down the performance of your computer, brings you an integrated search tool, and lets you watch the YouTube clips in fullscreen mode if necessary.
This utility features an intuitive interface with a search tool on the upper side of the screen. After you enter the necessary keywords and hit the Enter key, the app will reveal a list of video suggestions. All you need to do is click over the video you wish to watch.
You can toggle fullscreen mode, adjust the sound volume, and go back to the search result list whenever you like.
Unfortunately, this app lacks some important features. For instance, you cannot watch playlists or log in to your YouTube account. Another thing I don't like is that it occasionally freezes (nothing happens after you enter keywords within the search field and hit the Enter key).
With that being said, I think you can find better solutions for watching YouTube clips on your Mac without using your default browser.
