In 1950s Edinburgh, psychotherapist Dr Sinclair McCarthy busies himself with the post-war aftermath. When he takes a schoolboy as a new case, he doesn’t expect much from his Tuesday afternoons: thirteen-year-old Nicholas Farrell has predictable neuroses and avoidant manners.
But Nicholas begins to show unexpected behaviours, and Sinclair realises the boy holds secrets worth exploring. He faces a case that will test his skills, challenge his ethics, and threaten the stability of his carefully-constructed world.
Presented in the sequence of their weekly sessions, Tuesday’s Child maps a story of compulsion, obsession, and desire, as the therapist and his young client find themselves drawn into a relationship of compelling and dangerous intensity.
