TuxWordSmith is a cool and entertaining word puzzle game, greatly similar to the classic Scrabble game. The main difference between TuxWordSmith and the typical Scrabble game is that TuxWordSmith comes with Unicode support, allowing users to play in a large number of different languages and using non-conventional characters. This game is currently distributed with more than 40 dictionary files included, allowing its players to enjoy a nice word puzzle game in the language of their choice.
TuxWordSmith is also an educational utility – if you set it to use the Spanish-Russian dictionary, you can play the game using words of these languages, and also see their definitions and translations displayed on the screen (if the words submitted to the board are valid).
TuxWordSmith is an open source project, so you may download it and use it for free. The latest releases come only as Python-compilable resources, therefore, in order to actually play this game in case you’re not a programmer, you should look for an older version.
There’s not much else to say about this cool little word puzzle game. It’s a nice way to spend the free time for both Scrabble-enthusiasts and simple, casual players.
