The app has a nicely designed interface. Luckily, sounds are displayed as waveforms, which favors editing operations. It is good that you can open various recordings simultaneously and even move or copy fragments between them. However, it does not seem to support working with various tracks, which is a great limitation if you need to blend audio from various sources.

In addition to those common editing operations as cutting, pasting and deleting, Vector 3 also lets you apply any audio effect from a long list that includes generating silence, normalizing, reversing, adding echo, applying distortions and changing pitch. It is highly convenient that it allows undoing every action infinitely. In this respect, the history is saved with the source document, which means that you can even save it and continue working later without losing track of whatever you have done.

All in all, Vector 3 deserves your attention if you are looking for an app to edit, convert and record audio on Mac. There used to be a free version, named Vector 3 Express, which seems not to be available anymore. However, you can still use a trial version with the same features but the limitation that it can only save the first two minutes of your recording.
