Videoloupe is an advanced video player with some basic editing features. In this respect, this application can be used for synchronizing multiple videos and exporting specific video sequences. However, do not expect this product to have a timeline on which you can arrange clips to create a new video. The tool has a steep learning curve, which means that it requires some exploration time before you can get to use it fluently.

Videoloupe’s interface is beautifully designed. Most of the window’s space is devoted to video playback. Besides, there are some collapsible side panels, which allow adjusting image parameters, adding effects and inserting vignettes.

The built-in video player is quite advanced. In this regard, it is great that it can manage a large collection of videos. Although it allows all the formats that macOS natively support, there are others it does not recognize. The list of clips can be sorted and filtered based on their attributes (file size, codec, frame rate, etc). Moreover, and most significant, the application can play up to nine different videos side by side.

The possibility to play various simultaneous clips is used together with a set of special controls to synchronize playback. As to this, it is good news that there are controls specially intended for frame-by-frame comparison, shot analysis and marker navigation.

As said, Videoloupe comes with a few basic editing features. For instance, you can use it to remove tracks, trim a given segment and add watermarks. Besides, you can easily merge several videos. Likewise, you can select a specific frame or a group of them and export them as images (JPG, PNG and TIFF). Finally, it is noteworthy that the application lets you tweak the appearance of your videos by adjusting colors and adding effects.

In short, Videoloupe combines extended playback with basic editing features. The product can be bought from the Mac App Store or directly from the developer. Luckily, you can try its features by yourself as there is a downloadable trial version on the developer’s site.
