Videora iPhone 3GS Converter is an H.264 and MPEG-4 video converter. It is a completely free solution for converting files for playback on the iPhone 3GS or any other device that supports playback of H.264 or MPEG-4 videos. Like every other Videora converter that I have tried in the past, this one uses an HTML-based wizard to guide the user through the conversion process. There are two modes that the user can choose from, basic and advanced. The basic mode can be used to convert a file really quickly with minimal user input and the advanced mode offers some more conversion settings.
In my testing, I was able to convert XVID and MKV files into H.264 files that played very well on my iPhone 3G, so they should play well too on the 3GS, which is considerably faster. The quality was OK and I didn't experience any problems with sound or video.
Videora has released some of their converters for the Mac, but the instructions on the wizard still show examples from Windows, which can probably confuse some users.
All in all, this converter works, it is free and it produces good-quality files. There are better alternatives out there, though.
