Voicemeeter is a virtual mixer that can be used as an alternative to a Windows mixer. It lets you use three different input sources, two physical and one virtual, and two output sources, one physical, and one virtual.
The program's interface is kind of basic, showing the different sources, which can be customized; that is, you can choose which input/output source is no. 1, which is no. 2, and so on. Once you have selected the corresponding sources, you will see the activity of each through vertical sound graphics. You can control the gain, audibility, sound quality, and balance of each source individually.
The program also has a virtual 15-band equalizer, which will give even more control over the resulting sounds.
As you will discover soon, despite its apparent simplicity, the program has many advanced functions that aren't for casual or novice users, and this may be one of its disadvantages. Also, you may need specialized hardware to take advantage of all these functions.
On the other hand, the software is "donationware", which means that it does not have a fixed price tag. Instead, you can make a donation from $5 and up to get a license to use the program.
