WaterThumber is an image processing tool that allows you to optimize your photos for uploading to websites. It helps you create quality thumbnails, adjust images, resize pictures, and personalize your photos with original watermarks.
The program's interface is simple, yet rather unimpressive. The largest area of the main window is taken by the preview of the thumbnails of the files you load, while the image optimizing features are hidden under suggestively-named buttons placed on the upper toolbar. For a better preview of the imported files, the size of the thumbnails can be narrowed or enlarged by means of a handy slide bar. Unfortunately, you can't look at all pictures at a glance, as the interface doesn't support to be enlarged to custom dimensions.
The tool's major asset consists in the ability to process multiple images at once. Therefore, you can change the picture quality, apply image effects (like brightness, saturation, contrast, and sharpness), rotate and rescale the photos according to specific criteria, as well as add borders to them, customizable in terms of thickness and color. If you want these settings to take effect only on the thumbnails, then you can switch to the 'Thumbnails' module and make the same adjustments. Another good feature provided by this app is the ability to add the same image or text watermark to a selection of photos. The resulting images and thumbnails can be saved – complete with automatic file numbering – at a computer location that you determine.
