WinToHDD is intended to install Windows without the need to use an installation disc. The program supports various versions of this widely used operating system, including Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10. When you start the program, there is a welcoming screen from which you can access its four main features. First, you are allowed to reinstall Windows directly from an image file (ISO, WIM, ESD, SWM, VHD, VHDX) without the necessity of using a disc or even a USB drive. The second choice is quite similar but it lets you perform a completely new installation. The third button starts a process that allows you make an exact copy of your operating system to a standard hard disk or a solid-state drive. Finally, this tool has the unique feature of creating a multi-installation USB, which means that it can install any of various Windows versions from the same external storage device. Luckily, both BIOS and UEFI machines are supported.

To conclude, WinToHDD allows more installation types than most other programs of the same type. When tried, it worked exactly as described by its developer. In my opinion, it has a single limitation: it does not support creating Windows XP installers. I am glad that this product can be used for free if you have non-commercial purposes. However, there is a more powerful edition available for purchase.
