Extract the data compressed in ZIP archives or pack files into simple, multi-volume or password protected ZIP archives. The tool also supports 7z, RAR, CAB, ISO, IMG, LHA, BZ2 as well as ZIPx formats and connects with popular cloud services.
Winzip is the traditional Windows file compression application that has been redesigned and enhanced with new features. Its interface resembles Microsoft latest applications, and the ribbon bar has most of the options available on it. For old fashioned users the old interface can be enabled instead.
WinZip opens and extracts content from the widest range of archive formats, including Zip, Zipx, RAR, 7Z, BZ2, LHA, CAB, IMG, ISO. It also supports FIPS-197 certified 128- and 256-bit AES encryption for archive protection and creates self-extracting Zip files, ideal for distribution. All these mentioned features aren’t new; at least, for the last four years, WinZip has not changed much. But still among new features users will find:
A new design. A faster file compression. An integrated FTP client to upload backups to an off-site server. Encryption is added just by checking the option and pressing Zip. A contents preview has been added without the need of extracting files temporarily. It compresses digital photos and graphic images by 20 - 25% with no loss of quality. Other features include Windows 7 support, and an Office like interface with ribbon toolbars and clear icons for every feature and action.

- NEW! Set Expiration Dates for Files and Folders: Don’t let old files clutter your storage. Now your local and network files and folders, including Zip files can be scheduled for deletion. From “Expire Files”, pick the files and folders you want to schedule, specify the number of days before expiration, and click “Schedule”. WinZip will remove them for you upon expiration. Scheduling cloud files and folders for deletion requires either WinZip Pro or Enterprise.

- NEW! View Date taken and Date Modified: Sort your pictures by date taken. When previewing images, you can now view them by date taken or date modified. This helps you distinguish between the date the files were copied and the date the photo was taken.
