Word Magic is a simple application that allows you to find words from a list, by following a number of filters. The program will allow you to perform partial string searches, that is, finding a character string within a word, either at the beginning, the end or in the middle. You can also perform wildcard searches by replacing unknown letters in a word with an asterisk. Moreover, you can also find unicycles (words give another word when read backwards) and palindromes (words that can be read back and forth). In addition to this, there are other search functions, which are only available for the registered version.
For all the functions, you can filter your search by selecting options such as ignore accents, show headers or select the case. Before performing any search, you first need to load a word list. The results can be saved or printed. Unfortunately, the program crashed a few times while using it due to unexpected errors, so I had to restart it. The user interface is simple and easy to use, but not very attractive, and I also found several spelling mistakes.
In short, if you are looking for an application that helps you find words very easily and fast, Word Magic may work for you, but I am sure there are lots of similar but better applications out there.
