Wx is a specialized weather app for Mac OS X that downloads and processes weather information for the United States. Wx displays current conditions, forecasts, warnings, and radar for U.S. locations using high fidelity XML data from the National Weather Service. The app is designed for two specific types of customers: serious weather watchers who want detailed information and facts with no fuss, and casual users who want a fast, clean, and functional weather app.
Wx is crafted with attention to detail by an award-winning software developer with over 20 years of experience. Wx 6 has been reinvented from the ground up for OS X 10.7 Lion, but the app's new design and features are available on Mac OS X 10.6 too. Under the hood, Wx 6 has all new download and processing engines, and is faster than ever. It's more reliable than ever too, offering multiple levels of redundancy to handle severe weather events that can strain NWS servers.
v7.1
Thanks to all our great customers who have been using Wx for over 15 years! The 7.1.1 update fixes a font color issue for customers running macOS dark mode, and avoids a new kind of crash that popped up when the NWS sent out corrupt XML forecast data in early September 2020. The 7.1 update contains a bunch of small fixes and UI tweaks for newer versions of macOS. It includes revised URLs for NWS maps. We fixed a map bug to improve panning to adjacent radars during animations. The radar map style is now saved as a preference.
Great FREE weather app with the following features: + hourly forecast for the next 24 hours, + daily forecast for the next 5 days.
