Most part of the main window is taken by the image preview, so you can see in real time the changes you have done to the original. Unfortunately, the utility doesn't provide a mirror-like preview to help you better compare the original with the modified picture. However, you can always return to the original photo by clicking on the corresponding tile. The color filter you apply can be further adjusted by dragging the brightness and the contrast sliders manually. Yet, if the results don't please you, you will have to close and reopen the application and start from scratch, as an "undo" function isn't available.
