With Zbrush 3.1 we can sculpt and create amazing characters, the program is very intuitive for the people that has experience with similar programs.
When we open the program we can select between eight options to start our project they are: Load a ZBrush tool, Import an OBJ File, Other, Poly Sphere, Demo Head, Demo Soldier, Super Average Men, Dog and Rinho.
After we choose our project we can find a very complex interface but very intuitive for handle, we can find a Menu Bar, one toolbar, two panels one in the left and the other in the right and one window where we can see our models and projects.
This tool is really amazing because we can create texture and sculpt our 3D projects in a amazing way and is very intuitive to use.
We can handle the toolbars and the layers colors in different positions this is a great advantage for all the users.
In the Menu Bar we can handle the different brush, colors, documents, draw, edit, layer, light and more.
With the edit button we can select the tool to transform our projects, with the draw button we can create new figures predetermined, with the button move change the position of the objects. With the scale button we can resize the size of our objects and we can rotate it too.
The best of this program is very intuitive and easy to handle.
v4.5 [Dec 25, 2012]
--Panel Loops: Based on PolyGroups, this feature will transform the selected model into individual panels with thickness. Alternatively it can extrude panels that are still welded to the surface with clean borders and bevels, perfect for hard-edge sculpting.
--Delete Loops: Allows you to delete unnecessary edge loops or at higher settings drastically change the shape of your model. An alternative is Align Loops, which produces the same visual effect without editing your model’s topology.
--Posterization: ZBrush now supports the posterization in various settings such as in the Profile curve. This option allows you to create posterization in both 2D and 3D for your renders by implementing a cell shading style. This can even be done after a BPR Render by making adjustments with the new Posterize Filters.
--Improved Frame Mesh: Creates curves based on the PolyGroups, Creased Edges or Outline of any mesh. Use these curves with any curve-based brushes.
--Auto Save: ZBrush will now periodically and automatically save your work.
--QuickSave: This option will save your current model as a Project.
--PolyGroup Enhancements: Several functions related to PolyGroups have been added, including: Groups by Normals, merge StrayGroups to clean your PolyGroups, Crease by PolyGroup, Uncrease by PolyGroup and a smart Polish by Feature function to improve your mesh shape without losing volume.
--See Through Mode: Makes the entire ZBrush window partially transparent to see through to other application windows. For example you can display an image in your web browser rather than loading it into ZBrush and still use it as a reference during sculpting!
--Dynamic Brush Size: Makes it possible for the brush size to dynamically changeas the model moves closer or further away from the camera. This becomes extremely helpful when sculpting items such as bolts, alpha pattern, scales. No matter the distance the model is from the camera the bolt, alpha pattern and scales will remain the same size due to the brush dynamically changing.
