Rebranded companion app for Amazfit devices

Zeppis a freelifestyleapplication developed by Huami Inc. for mobile devices. Formerly known as Amazfit, it serves as thecompanionhealthapp for variousfitness bands and smartwatchesfrom the company's Amazfit brand. It's used to manage device settings and collect vitalhealth stats and data.

Just like withZepp Life, Zepp was developed for Amazfit devices under the same parent company Xiaomi. While the former was intended for Mi-branded wearables, this one is forAmazfit devicesthat were being offered by Huami. It supports various models from theSport,Essential, andAdvancedproduct lines.

A rebrand and visual revamp

The wearable fitness device industry was predominantly ruled by big-name brands like Apple, Samsung, and Fitbit. They offered pretty compelling user experiences and dependable health tracking, but their price tags leave a lot to be desired. Here then comes Amazfit devices made by Xiaomi subsidiary Huami, offering premium designs and similar performance for less money together with its comparable and newly rebranded companion app, Zepp.

Formerly known as Amazfit, Zepp allows you to manage all your Amazfit devices using a single application. You'll be able to pair it with the company's popular and stylish GTR and GTS smartwatches to the more rugged and utilitarian T-Rex and Stratos line. The UI has also received a nice revamp, with a more sleek and modern look, as well as better data visualizations.

Choose from its long list of supported exercises to record your workouts. It will then collect all the data and provide you with visualized graphs and charts to give you an idea of how you're doing health-wise. One area that needs more work, though, is how the app manages connections with devices. It would often get disconnected and interrupt certain functions like pushing out app notifications and alerts.

In summary, Zepp is not just a simple rebrand of the former Amazfit app, but it also improves upon some key areas regarding the user interface and overall user experience. While the disconnection issues from previous iterations still persist, it's going in the right direction.
